California Route 76 winds through the mountains of Cleveland National Forest just northeast of Escondido, California. It's been called Southern California's most technical road- and it just might be.
Smooth pavement makes for a great ride. Hairpins and tight switchbacks means you'd better leave the running boards at home! But watch for decreasing radius turns that could ruin your whole day.
Pick it up off I-15 and head east. When you get to Lake Henshaw, take a break then turn around and do it again!
